Red Blend

Wine blends can offer more complexity that single varietal wines as winemakers can enhance a wine's qualities with the different flavors. Some common red blends are: - Bordeaux Blends (made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec Petite Verdot, Carmenere, and Cabernet Franc) - Super Tuscans (made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Syrah, and Petite Verdot) - Meritages (usually made from the same type of varietals as Bordeaux Blends) - Rhône-Style Blends (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Côte-Rôtie)
